Heart at Work

Welcome to the Heart at Work site!
Being healthy on the job is essential. The healthier employees are, the fewer days they will be absent from work and the more they will have a sense of belonging to their organization. They are also more likely to feel happy and enjoy a good quality of life, both at work and at home.
Heart at Work is a new turnkey program offering simple, effective ideas for encouraging healthy eating and regular physical activity in the workplace.

Each year, Canadian and Québec companies sacrifice thousands of dollars to the health problems of their employees. In Québec, value of production lost due to employee incapacity is estimated at:
- $7.7 billion for incapacities of six months or more
- $1.7 billion for incapacities of less than six months
Direct costs related to absenteeism represent about 10% of total payroll costs.
A work environment that encourages development of a healthy lifestyle, such as regular physical activity and healthy eating, promotes the health and productivity of each employee.
